• In partnership with IEEE, the HCT’s Computer Information Science (CIS) Faculty organized the 4th IT research conference – the 2017 International Conference on Information Technology Trends (ITT) – on 25th and 26th of October, 2017 at the Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW).
  • The conference provided a great opportunity for the participants to increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons about the latest in Information Technology through presentations, discussion and hands-on-sessions.More than 18 researchers from across the globe shared their research findings in the areas of learning and smart devices. More than 250 faculty and students from HCT, as well as participants from overseas and the UAE, attended the conference.
  • The aim of the conference was to foster IT research through leadership that provides pragmatic solutions to global and community needs.  The conference hosted 2 keynote speakers –
    • Prof. Dr. Fatos Xhafa from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, and he discussed the current and new trends and challenges arising in designing and building Smart Learning Systems from Big Data Processing and Mining. He concluded his remarks with some lessons learned and challenges faced ahead in the research and development of New Generation of Smart Learning Systems
    • Prof. Dr. Adnan Yazici from the Department of Computer Engineering Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. His talk was about Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks for Smart City Solutions. His research focused on developing a cost-effective and feasible solution by achieving higher accuracy in detecting objects and events for safety and security of people in cities as a smart city solution.
